From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
